Summer Campus Projects

King’s Schools is out for the summer and our summer campus projects are underway, while the students are on their break.

We will be removing one of the science classrooms, annex #3, just off of N. 195th (west of the water towers) and installing surface parking in this area.  Science classroom, Annex #1 just two buildings to the west, will be renovated this summer to accommodate King’s Schools Admissions offices.  We plan to resurface a number of our parking lots that have aged and require sealing and re striping.  We will be installing a carport structure on CRISTA Lane, by the nurse center, that will  cover the existing Senior Living Bus parking spot.  We have plans to paint and perform brick restoration on the exterior of the high school building.  In addition, several CRISTA residential rental homes, around the campus, are also scheduled for paint.

King’s Schools will be running several camps for students on summer break.  These camps typically occur on the Woolsey Stadium Football Field or in the two campus gymnasiums.

We have had a beautiful start to the summer and look forward to good conditions to continue that will allow all these projects to be completed on schedule.

Thank you!

RELAY FOR LIFE

On June 7th and 8th, we are again pleased to host ‘Relay for Life’, in  Woosley Stadium.

At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds raised truly make a difference in the fight against cancer – just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!

Relay teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school, park, or fairground. Relay events are up to 24 hours in length and, because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.

The Longest Day

CRISTA Senior Living is proud to be partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to bring their latest initiative to the great Pacific Northwest- titled “The Longest Day”.  The Longest Day has been around for 2 years.  CRISTA Senior Living is the first organization putting together The Longest Day as a fundraising event for the local chapter in Washington State.  There are a few other small family teams signed up in our chapter area.

On The Longest Day, teams around the world come together to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s with a day of activity. Held on the summer solstice, June 21, 2014, this event calls on participants to raise funds and awareness to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.” (ALz.org, 2014) The Longest Day consists of a 16 hour event, and our event at CRISTA will be called the “Run, Walk, Wag”, and will take place on our King’s High School, Woolsey stadium, track and field. For 16 continuous hours we will be inviting participants to run, walk, or wag the dog around our track in order to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.

CRISTA Senior Living passionate about seniors living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, and we currently have 2 memory care units that are 100% occupied.   I personally served as an activity coordinator in memory care and that is where my personal passion began to come to life.  As far as Marketing Senior Living, aligning ourselves with a national cause just makes sense.  This will give us valuable exposure and positioning within the community. Together, our goal is to raise $25,000.00 for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Thank you!
